Fourteen years passed. Did we learnt anything?

My take on the tragedy which I actively took part in 13 years ago:

The students didn't have a clue what they were doing. What they have actually accomplished was delaying the democratic process of China by another decade;

Zhao Ziyao's political wisdom is limited. He took an opportunistic stance, which encourated the students to drive themselves into a dead-end;

Despite the above two points, the cruelty shown by Deng and Li afterwards demonstrated the darkest side of our culture. In my eyes, that one day, 14 years after, still shrouds all the glitters of the gold. It is a prime sample that our history is a history of "eating people alive", "every page of it is immersed with blood".

I watched a documentary named "Tian An Men" after I came to Canada. I recommend you get a copy in any Chinese video store.
