Toronto police are treating the disappearance of a 9-year-old girl in North York today as an abduction and have called in the Sex Crimes Unit.
They issued an amber alert this afternoon for Dong-Yue (Cecilia) Zhang, of 33 Whitehorn Cres.
Police released a photograph of the missing girl and expressed concern at a 1 p.m. news conference near her home in the Finch Ave. and Highway 404 area.
There was "tampering" with the back window near where she slept, according to Sergeant Jim Muscat of the Toronto police, and there was evidence of foul play, although neither he nor Investigator Dave Perry of the Sex Crimes Unit would give details.
Police fear the girl, who is Oriental, was taken overnight from her bed. Her parents discovered her missing at 8:27 this morning.
A command post was set up and a full-scale search was set up.
The girl, who is 4-foot-11 and 70 pounds, has never before gone missing. She has brown eyes and shoulder-length, straight-black hair with blonde highlights.
She is a Grade 4 student at Seneca Hill Drive Public School in North York.
Anyone with information is asked to contact 33 Division at (416) 808-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
