It's not a simple math, if they merge, a lot of Liberal supporters will switch to Tory because they can not tolerate NDP policy. If they try to take on Bloc Quebecois, it's even worse

当然不是简单的加法。但也不会有大量的票源流失。假如流失十分之一的选票，合并后的两党依旧有40%的支持率，足够组建多数政府。
